Take a Walking Tour of the Historic District

From Francis Scott Key to the Civil War, Frederick County is rich with history!  This history has influenced our area in many ways, including architecture.  The historic district of Frederick includes 80 blocks, with many examples of interesting and beautiful buildings and homes. To walk the city and visit the architectural history, follow this Downtown walking tour.  This tour was created by Abby Tesfaye, a student at the University of Maryland who is involved in the UMD PALS project.  The tour takes you through the historic district where one can see the influences of the English and German settlers who founded Frederick in 1745.  Architecture visited on the tour includes churches, residences and more!
